Alison did not want to go to school on Monday.
She was so worried that she would miss the birth of the new pony. She came home anxious, and no baby. I guess, just like any other birth they are very unpredictable. She researched on the internet about the signs of labor in a horse.
She got pretty versed and told us all about it at dinner.
She wasn't the only anxious one because Sunday night at about 4 in the morning, I was awakened to Andrew getting out of bed. He proceeded to turn on all of the lights outside and searched for her. She was with all of the other horses, not having a baby.
Andrew and I had gotten up early on Wed. to get Victoria to her scheduled surgery appointment at 6:00am. I was getting Victoria dressed while he went out to check on the horses. Low and behold, there was a cute little wobbly baby still wet standing under his mother. I went out to see him.
We both realized Alison was not there.
Upon waking her, she jumped out of bed and ran outside with no shoes or coat on.
I took a few pictures. Both mom and baby are fun to watch. Seriously, I could watch them all day.
It is fun to see them interact.
We knew the time was getting close. We would all look out and see where she was and if she was close to fouling,
we even had the video camera ready.
And, in the end, we all missed the miracle.
But now we get to see the joy of new life...
